AAMSN is open for membership to Registered Nurses who have completed a sedation certification course. Proof of certification by the certifying body, including a course outline, is required. Certification may be completed through a hospital, same-day surgery program, nursing organization, or sedation education provider.

There are two common pathways to meeting the sedation certification requirement for AAMSN membership.

Complete the sedation certification course offered through Healthy Visions / Sedation Certification. Course completion includes your first year of AAMSN membership.

Sedation certification may also be completed through your hospital, same-day surgery facility, or nursing organization, provided you can submit the required documentation, including proof of certification and course outline.
